The Equivalent – New Time, Old Mistakes

Alright.  I won’t lie.  This show did not live up to my hopes for this new timeslot.

Don’t get me wrong.  It’s not the timeslot’s fault. The timeslot was doing all it could.

The perpetrator was me, or more accurately, my facemouth.  Things did not come out of it as I intended.

There are a lot of words I need to say during broadcasts.  Some are large.  Putting them all together takes a good deal of articulation and focus.

The problem is I have the eloquence of a vacuum cleaner with a lisp and if I were clever I would end this sentence with ellipsis to look like I was losing attention.  I can’t be bothered.

This leads to an interesting dilemna.  This is the first time I’ve been able to put my show up for access on this blog.  Ideally, the first show I’d put up would be a triumph.  Oops.  If you could turn it off before the NEWS starts, I would appreciate it.  Cameron came in and started throwing Sun Ra CDs at me.  I completely lost it.  Oh well.

Now, I don’t want to sound completely negative.  There were some bright spots.  Luke Wilson was the best guest star we’ve had yet on Dead Air.  I finally got to work in an electronic drum set like I had always intended to.  I didn’t do it in the best spots or with any semblance of rhythm, but the set is there.   Expect better involvement in the future.  Also, I got to honor Edge’s imminent WWE Hall of Fame induction with some Metalingus by Alter Bridge.  I swear to you, that will be the worst thing I will ever do on my show.  It will only get better.

More generally, I love the two hour slot.  It will be much easier to prepare around, and I don’t think there will be enough time for a lull to work its way in.

Yeah, I don’t know.  It’s all a start.  If you have any complaints, feel free to write in.
